Concussion Policy

A concussion is an impairment of the brain’s normal function, usually caused by a blow to the head or body that causes a jarring of the brain. Concussions may cause alterations in cognitive function, vision, eye movement, facial movement, or speech.

  • Any Farmington Youth Lacrosse player suspected of a concussion will be removed from play immediately, and the player and parent(s) will be advised to seek immediate medical evaluation and treatment.

  • Once removed from play for a suspected head injury, a player will not be allowed to return to play again without a written release from their doctor.
