Welcome

Welcome to Farmington Youth Lacrosse

We are the youth lacrosse program for the town of Farmington, CT. We offer boys and girls lacrosse programs for ages 8U through 14U (1st to 8th grade).

Our organization is focused on providing a fun and positive environment to learn and play the game of lacrosse.  We strive to follow the US Lacrosse ROOTS  philosophy:  Teach respect for Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, and Self. FYL aims to promote the sport of lacrosse in Farmington and to instill a love for the game among players and their families.

**ALERT: NEW EQUIPMENT RULES**

NEW EQUIPMENT RULES STARTING 2021

Your son or daughter will not be able to play lacrosse unless their equipment meets the following new chest protection standards:

  • 2021: Goalies only (girls and boys) – Goalie chest protectors used after January 1, 2021 must be designed for lacrosse and meet the NOCSAE ND200 standard.
  • 2022: All field players (boys only) – Beginning in 2022, US Lacrosse boys’ field players, NFHS boys’ field players, and NCAA men’s field players must also wear chest protection that meets the NOCSAE ND200 standard.

See our FYL Facebook page for 20% off at Dick's Sporting Goods for March 5-8.

You can find a complete list of equipment that meets the ND200 standard HERE (under US Lacrosse > Commotio Cordis protectors). Also, you can look for the following stamp on chest protectors/ shoulder pads when you are at the store:

WHAT IS FARMINGTON YOUTH LACROSSE IS DOING?

  1. All of our loaner goalie chest pads will be replaced immediately with new pads that comply with the ND200 standard.
  2. All of our loaner shoulder pads for boys' field players will be discarded after the 2021 spring season, as none of our current stock meets the new ND200 standard. So if your son borrows shoulder pads for this season, they are yours to keep with the understanding that they will not be legal for play in 2022.

Visit US Lacrosse for more details on ND200.
